Hi all, welcome to my weekly tour diary. I hope this little blog finds you happy and feeling fine.
We had a great start to the tour playing to a sold out crowd in the Catalyst room at the Bridgeway Hotel, Adelaide. The boys from Calling All Cars had a cracker and really warmed the crowd up for us. We hit the stage about 10.30 playing through a selection of songs from each release and a brand new one I hope you all enjoyed. The crowd was awesome and in fine voice, with more good-looking fans than you could poke a stick at; we had a ball. Thanks to Prue and crew for making the start of tour a memorable night.
Next up was Mildura Sand Bar and after a short 6-hour drive up the road, it was great to meet Chris and Vince who really looked after us. It was another sold out show and one of the coldest gigs I’ve done in a while. Thanks to the fans down the front who tried to warm me up :P. It was a great night and playing for everyone there was awesome. Great vibe and great energy despite the cold.
Last for the weekend was the Roi Bar in Albury, and another great crowd. I’m so glad we are doing some regional shows, the vibe in these places has been amazing. Some very keen guys have traveled long distances to see us and it really does make you appreciate the effort people go to for music they love. Thanks to Ben and our crew for a sub zero load out, you guys are the bomb :)
Next week the wash up and all the details from the gigs around Melbourne so stay safe and have a great week/weekend.
Always
Clint
P.S. Nudie runs, excessive partying and all the naughty shenanigans coming soon :)

It's great that you guys are catering to all of our good country folk. =o)
ReplyDeleteAm very much looking forward to the Frankston gig tomorrow night. Bring on the shenanigans!
I'm an Aussie boy living in the UK at the moment, so not getting the chance to come see you guys as regularly as usual. Last time was at the Enmore, which was an incredible gig.
ReplyDeleteMy point is a) Are you coming to the UK anytime soon? and b) Any chance there's a leak of the new song somewhere out there for a fan to find?
Cheers, hope the rest of the tour goes smoothly.
Awesome show at the Bridgeway guys. Have lived in bumfuck sa all my life and never managed to make it to the bridgeway. Catalyst used to be called Transformers back in the day and had regular visitors such as The Screaming Jets and The Angels but the joint had a bad wrap due to excessive mullets and single dads (the mums were all at home with jack leaking from their arms), so it was cool to see you guys play at the very iconised 80's revamp that become catalyst.
ReplyDeleteI must also add that Clint your voice was fucking bang on, I heard you on the Jays a while back explaining that you're off the piss pre-gigs and whilst on tour, you're into yoga and shit, hows that working for you? Is it like giving up cigarettes then you're back on em 3 days later, (optimistically, pessimistic). From a punters perspective it's working even though I was a little on the piss myself!
Cheers for a great night guys, see you next time!
Oh and by the way my other half Pebbles bought me the tix for your show, (just thought you needed to know that???) I was going to stay at home and nurse our credit card back to health but she understands what it means to me to see good live Aussie music, she's a ledge!
Keep on rockin in the free world, Always...
Matt.
